Student Chromebooks
Below, you will also find a link for GMS Technology procedures. In this document, you can put in a repair ticket for a device. Before filling out a repair ticket, powerwashing and troubleshooting tips should be used first. Many times, this will fix Chromebook software and performance issues. If your device has to be brought in for repair, you will be contacted and scheduled to bring your device to GMS on Wednesdays between 9-11AM by appointment only. There are a limited number of devices that can be used as replacements at this time. Please show a high level of care to your device. Make sure the lid is closed when the device is not in use.
District digital learning technology assistance is also available daily from 7:30AM - 3:00PM by calling 864-397-1185 or 864-397-1187. You can also reach these services by using WebEx: https://pickens.webex.com/meet/studenttech
Wifi Access
- Charter Spectrum - Charter is offering free Spectrum broadband and Wi-Fi access for 60 days to households with K-12 students who do not already have a Spectrum subscription. To enroll, call 1-844-488-8395.
- AT&T - AT&T is also providing budget friendly Internet options. For availability and more information click HERE.
- Hotspots - during online registration this year, parents were asked to indicate whether they had home internet access. SDPC is in the process of purchasing enough mobile internet hotspots for these families. Eligible parents will receive a separate email or phone call to inform them of their eligibility as these become available.
- School Parking Lots - Students can access school WiFi from some of our school parking lots. Gates to our parking lots will remain open so that students can park on our properties and access school WiFi. Students will not be allowed to congregate outside their vehicles. East End Elementary, West End Elementary, and GMS are Easley area parking lot WiFi access points.
Student Meals
SDPC is offering breakfast and lunch for anyone under the age of 18 (and special needs adults up to age 21) on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. The child does not have to be present for the parent to receive the meal as long as the parent can provide identification for the child.
Food Service Changes Beginning April 13
Food service is now delivering three days per week: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Meals for two days will be served and delivered on Tuesday and Thursday. Our food service sites at schools and churches will follow the same schedule as above, and will continue to be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. We will continue to make adjustments to bus routes on a weekly basis.
SDPC is making this change to lower the number of weekly contacts between employees, parents, and each other to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Meals will be available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the following locations for Easley area schools (a full list of all schools and Churches serving meals can be found HERE):
- McKissick Academy of Science & Technology
- West End Elementary
Georges Creek Baptist Church
1991 Saluda Dam Rd
Easley, SC 29640
Bus Delivery:
School buses will travel to their morning and afternoon stops carrying meals beginning at 10 a.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. If the time when a student needs to pick up their meal conflicts with a class time, please inform the teacher. Keeping our students fed is a top priority, and our teachers will work with students to make sure basic needs are met first. If you have questions about a bus arriving on time, please call your area bus office. Any child, whether they ride a bus or not, is allowed to get a meal at any bus stop. If you need a meal, just look for a yellow bus!
