Sprague School

In connection with a community social studies unit, second-graders explored the Raupp Museum in Buffalo Grove visiting a late 1800s farmhouse and community that included a replica dairy cow, manual typewriter, vintage pickup truck, antique cash register, and a peek into an old-fashioned general store.

The season has ended for crossing guard assistance in District 103. Students who walk or bike to school should take extra precautions between now and spring break 2023. There will be no crossing guards assisting students to and from Sprague School behind the playground at the intersection of Riverwoods Road and Yorkshire Drive or in front of Daniel Wright Junior High School.

Sprague School, in partnership with Illinois CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children) is collecting new pajamas in sizes 5T through teen sizes for all genders until Thursday, Dec. 15.

Pajamas must be new (never worn) and a complete set – either a top and bottom or onesie. And even though we’ve already had our first snowfall, we need pajamas for all seasons, not just winter. There is a collection box for the pajamas at Sprague.

The Sunshine Squad (a before school activity) voted to hold a spirit week for all Sprague students, the week of Monday, Dec. 19, through Thursday, Dec. 22. All students are welcome to participate in the events below or just come to school dressed as their wonderful selves like any other day!

If your child is planning to participate, this is a great opportunity to help our young Wildcats share in the responsibility of remembering these fun events. You might consider having your child/children mark the calendar with your help or use a device to set an alarm or calendar reminder for the night before or day of the activity.

Monday 12/19: Sports day! Dress to represent a favorite sport or team! Remember, if it's a favorite type of movement, it counts! Whatever you consider a sport IS a sport!

Tuesday 12/20: Fancy Day! Dress in your Tuesday best!

Wednesday 12/21: Holiday day! Dress to represent any holiday you enjoy!

Thursday 12/22: Pajama Day Dance Party! Dress in your comfies and get ready to end the day heading into Winter Break with a dance party!

Please ask your child to visit the Lost & Found bins if something is missing. Water bottles, jackets, lunch boxes, and more can be found there. The school will donate unclaimed items. Do you see any of your student's belongings in the picture? Please remember to clearly write your child's name on these items. Items will be donated before Winter Break.

State code 20 ILCS 2310/2310-700 requires that the Illinois Department of Public Health provide informational materials for school districts regarding influenza and influenza vaccinations. Families will find publications regarding both influenza and meningococcal vaccines available on our website under the Health and Wellness tab.
