Taiko Performance and Perseverance
What an amazing week we have had learning Taiko! I was blown away by students' displays of the Taiko principles of respect, cooperation and perseverance. We focused a lot on perseverance and reflected on what it means to persevere, what it feels like and the impact it can have on our learning. If you missed our final performance on Thursday, you can check out video of the performance on Seesaw.
Kinder Buddies
Our class is so excited that this is the first year they get to be big buddies! We met our kinder buddies in Mrs. Zielke's class today and we are working on writing a friendship poem. We will be helping the kinders with projects this year as well as combining our Writer's Workshops, collaborating and making books together.
Important Math Messages
Below is a chart of the key ideas we learned this week in our "Week of Inspirational Math". I hope you will discuss these messages with your child and possibly examine your own attitudes and beliefs about math. Having a growth mindset about math is very important and will be the foundation of our learning this year.
