Is it necessary to do ELL testing for foreign exchange students, especially those who will only be here one semester?
If the student has a non-English language on the Home Language Survey, then you would need to assess for English Language proficiency using the WIDA Screener and provide EL services if the student qualifies. More information about Foreign Exchange students and language status can be found here.
