Welcome Back!
Welcome to Ms. Bush's "Forget-Me-Notes" 21-22 Newsletter!
Welcome back!
Whether you're an incoming freshman or someone I have had the privilege of counseling in years prior, I'm so excited to have you return to school and start a new year here at High School East! It has been incredible getting back into the swing of things and seeing both familiar as well as new faces.
It's been great hearing some of the adventures (both local or further away) you've had over the summer. So many of you worked hard at your first jobs! Some of you had your first family vacations in quite some time. Some had staycations which sounded like so much fun! Wherever the wind took you this summer, I do hope you had time to relax and spend time with those you love. After a unique and stressful 2 years: recharging and getting back to the connections that make us smile is so important.
This summer I set off on a few of my own adventures. I returned to the classroom after some time: travelling to Kansas where I began my journey in learning trauma-based therapy. It was very intense but I'm already seeing benefits and helping people in the community where I counsel in the evening. After 3 long years, I was finally able to reconnect and see my brother and nephew. It was so good to see them both! My nephew (who will be 11 in November) is getting so tall!! Then summer concluded with me visiting Universal Studios where I at long last got accepted into Hogwarts (Gryffindor House, naturally)!
I will look back fondly at this summer and embrace the autumn with the same hope, gratitude, and optimism that comes with the crisper days of fall. As we begin a new school year together, this is a friendly reminder that you are not alone. Please use this newsletter of "forget-me-notes" to help remind you of items of import as well as how to connect with me when you most need to reach out.
With Heart, Always.
Ms. Bush
