Determining Indoor Recess
Here at Hills Garrison, we like to get students outside for recess. The fresh air and exercise recharge students to finish the school day strongly. However, with the impending cold weather ahead, indoor recesses are inevitable. Indoor recesses allow students to demonstrate flexibility and strengthen their social development. The determining factor for recess is the “real feel” temperature. Students will go outside for recess if the real feel temperature is 20 degrees or above.
The real feel temperature is determined by looking at three weather providers. If two of the three providers say the real feel temperature is less than 20 degrees, students will have indoor recess. If two of the three providers say the real feel temperature is 20 degrees or above, students will go out for recess.
Since New England weather is unpredictable, please send your child to school with the appropriate clothing.
