Message from the Principal
Dear Central Road Families,
Safety week was a huge success! The students did a fantastic job following the procedures to prepare for an emergency. Below is a photo from our relocation drill.
Halloween is quickly approaching and is an exciting time for our students. As you begin planning for Halloween, please be mindful of the school rules related to costumes. Costumes should not include any weapons, blood or items that are intended to scare others. Students may not wear face paint to school. If a child’s costume includes a mask, the mask may be worn on top of your child’s head, so their face is visible.
Students should wear their normal clothing to school on October 31st and bring their costumes in their backpack. They will be given time to put their Halloween costumes on prior to the parade, after the lunch period.
On Tuesday, October 1st at 7:00 p.m. we will have a general assembly PTA meeting. After the meeting, at 8:00 p.m. we will be meeting with our classroom coordinators. During this meeting, we will discuss in detail how to plan for a Halloween Party that does not include any food items.
Each classroom will be asking for five parent volunteers for our Halloween Parties. If you would like to volunteer to help during the party, please reach out to your child’s classroom teacher or room parent. Prior to the Halloween parties, we will create name badges for all of our volunteers. Family members that are not assisting in the classroom are welcome to watch the parade, but may not enter the building during the parties. If you have not had your ID badge run through Raptor, please visit our school office, so we can add you the system.
Please view the attached fliers for information about Basic Computer Classes for parents and the East Park Health & Wellness Fair.
Let’s make it a great week!
Warmest regards,
Patti Van Winkle
Principal
