Jackson Families,

Talent Show is Friday, 5/19. Start time has been adjusted to 1:00pm. Here are some details you'll want to know if you have a child performing and plan to attend.

JIS gym is not air conditioned so once we have all students, staff and parents seated, it can feel pretty hot and muggy depending on the weather.
Parking will be available for visitors in the south and east parking lots. Staff members will park in the grass to open spaces in the front lot.
Visitors will enter the south doors (facing the softball field) no earlier than 12:45pm to be sure lunch service has ended before visitors enter the building.
Jackson staff members will show visitors where to sit.
Bleachers have no railings so elderly and those with physical limitations will be given preference on the lowest benches.
All students will return to homerooms after the assembly. Parents who want to sign their children out to leave will go to the cafeteria to do so. Students will be released to adults who are in our system with approval for pick up. Students will be called to the cafeteria and leave with you from there.
Buses arrive as early as 3:00pm in the main driveway.
There is a correction in the start time. We are now scheduled to begin at 1:00pm and end by 2:30pm. Students will exit the gym before visitors.

Spring 2023 OST results will be released for district access on the dates below.

5/16 - Math (grades 3-5) and Science (grade 5) for online testers

5/22 - ELA (grades 4-5) for online testers

6/15 - ELA Grade 3 for paper testers

2023-24 STUDENT PLACEMENT SURVEY

Each year we consider many factors when placing children in classes at Jackson Intermediate School. Because we strive to provide the most positive experience for all students, and because we value your input regarding your child/children, I ask that you take some time to complete the questionnaire and submit it by Friday, 5/12, for your student(s) who will be entering 3rd, 4th or 5th grade at Jackson Intermediate School next school year (2023-24).

Please note: I don't accept requests for specific teachers since staffing changes can occur unexpectedly during summer months with reassignments, retirements and resignations. Be assured, however, that your input, along with that of our teachers, will enable me to make the best possible class placements for all our children.

CAMP INVENTION UPDATE!

Calling all families of curious kids! If you are still looking for an exciting, high-energy summer experience for your child, check out Camp Invention®!

EXCITING NEWS! Jackson’s week of Camp Invention was just given a limited number of scholarships for families on a first come, first served basis. If you are interested in benefiting from $100 off the registration price, please contact Dee Martindale at dmartindale@lakewoodlocal.k12.oh.us.

Total price after this scholarship will be $160.

Camp Invention is developed for students entering grades K-6. This program is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to introduce your child to STEM concepts through engaging, hands-on challenges. As they move through four all-new experiences, campers collaborate with friends, grow their problem-solving skills and bring their creative ideas to life. Jackson Intermediate is offering the program this summer from July 24th through July 28th.
