Kodiak Family,
Thank you to everyone that showed up for our Sandlot event! Students, staff, and families had a wonderful evening playing softball. Thank you for all of the support and specifically thank you to our AMAZING PTSO for all of their efforts this year!
Lost and found items will be set out for the next two weeks. Please collect items that belong to you. Items will be donated at the end of the school year.
We are looking forward to a wonderful end to the 2021-2022 school year. As always, thank you for your continued support and partnership in learning.

ATTENTION 8th Grade Parents & Students
All 8th graders are required to fill out a 4-year planner for high school. Your student has been given instructions on how to fill in the planner in their advisory class. Please note that these planners need parent approval. All the information about 4-year planners can be found on the VMS website.

You will also find the Course Description Handbook and the 4-year planner.
Please listen to the YouTube video, encourage your student through the process, and after reviewing your student's planner, click on the Parent/Guardian Approval Link on the planner and push submit.

Math Help!
RETAKE Math ASSESSMENTS
Our Math Intervention Teacher, Mrs. Shalz, is available during the sessions listed below to provide math 6, 7, and 8 students with extra practice and an opportunity to retake assessments to demonstrate deeper understanding of the grade level math concepts. Please Note: This help is not available for students in honors or advanced math. Students in honors and advanced math should work with their math teacher to schedule a re-assessment.
Students should bring their graded Math assessment so Mrs. Shalz can help make corrections. Students are welcome to attend retake sessions even if they don’t have their graded Math assessment.
Students should get a pass from their Math Teacher or Mrs. Shalz before attending retake sessions.

MHS Physical Exam Day
Meridian High School will be doing our physical day May 18th, from 3:30 - 8:00 PM. All students who plan to participate in athletics next year should take advantage of this opportunity to get a physical for a reduced rate and help with SWOL accounts.
All incoming freshmen, juniors, and students who will be participating at MHS for the first-time next year must have a current physical (dated after May 1, 2022).

Congratulations to our top two milers for Mileage Club this year!
Maxwell Edwards ran 50 miles and Cooper Ryan ran 63 miles!
These boys each earned a whole slew of Fuel Up To Play 60 awards, including a 10 mile smoothie party, a 25 mile Field Trip to Defy Jump Park, a 50 mile $100 ultimate prize pack, and a Top Miler grand prize of a $100 gift card to Fleet Feet Shoes and Bandana Running Company to get a brand new pair of running shoes. Way to go Coop and Max! We are so proud of you!

Wow… it is a amazing how fast this year went and it’s hard to believe that we are already wrapping up our spring seasons. Thanks for all of your support and help throughout this school year. Here are a couple reminders of dates that are coming up:

We also want to congratulate our athletes of the month… this athletes have worked so hard and truly show how to do it the Kodiak Way!
7BB (Cooper Willoughby) – “Cooper was constantly demonstrating competitive excellence. Cooper’s fight and desire to compete at a high level makes him the athlete of the month”
7GB (Rylee Thompson) – “Rylee was a solid player on both offense and defense. She always stepped up to help lead us in practice and in our games. She is a basketball player!”
Track (Charles Sussex) – “Charles has pushed himself harder than any of the coaches though possible and exceeded all expectations. He’s dedicated to giving his best effort and is an excellent model for the rest of the team to follow.”
Tennis (Karley Allen) – “She has been positive and hard working. The tennis season has been up and down with some of the matches being cancelled, but she has been a good influence to the other players with being positive and continued hard work to improve her game.”
