From Your Advisors
Welcome to Auburn!
On behalf of the Exploratory Advising Center, we are SO excited to work with you this year. We truly enjoyed meeting each of you at Camp War Eagle and starting the exploration process. We look forward to walking alongside each of you as you begin your Auburn journey.
Each month, we will share information and updates that are relevant to you as Auburn student in ‘The Explorer’. If there is ever information you’d like to see, or if you’d like to submit information, feel free to share with your advisor!
To kick off the semester, we thought we’d each share a tip for succeeding in your first few weeks:
From Meredith: Never be afraid to ask for help! I’m naturally shy, so I was TERRIFIED to ask for help during my first year of college. Finally, I learned that my professors, advisors, and peers were all more than willing to help and offer advice. Use those resources! That being said, Michael and I are here to meet with you at any time!
From Michael: Pace yourself! Don’t try to read 54 pages of your textbook every day—read 18 pages over a three-day period. Don’t wait until the night before a test to start looking over your notes—study a little bit every week. Don’t start a 10-page paper the day before it’s due—write two pages every day for five days. Take your time and give yourself room to breathe.
We are so excited to see you all soon!
War Eagle,
Meredith & Michael
