PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
The end is near...we will soon be having our end of year awards and the summer hits before we know it. Here is the schedule for our end of year awards:
6th grade - June 5th at 2:00 p.m.
7th grade - June 6th at 10:00 a.m.
8th grade - June 6th at 1:00 p.m.
A quick word of caution. The sidewalks by the neighborhoods in front of HEB are under construction and kids walking or riding on bikes are having to go out in the road. If this pertains to you, you may want to take a look and give your kids some suggestions or make other arrangements.
I am so proud of our Lopez budding artists. At the recent NEISD visual Arts competition, Lopez brought home 1st place, beating out Hill Middle School. Awesome accomplishment.
Recently one of our students did something amazing. Agustin Pascal went to Spain to represent Mexico in the 3 International Days of Trial, which is a motorcycle competition. Not only did he do well, he won it! Great job. It is an incredible feat. (See picture below)

LOPEZ PANTHERS LEAD, SERVE AND INSPIRE
Parents/Guardians
Celebration! Lopez MS is the 1st Leader in Me Lighthouse Middle School in Texas! Leader in Me teaches 21st century leadership and life skills to students and creates a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader. During the months of April/May our school will be conducting surveys to learn more about key areas of strength and areas of needed growth in our school. The data from these surveys will also help us track the impacts of The Leader in Me process and implement key practices more fully. In order for us to have a holistic picture of what is going on in our school we are asking all full-time staff members, parents/guardians, and students to participate.
If you decide participate, you will be asked to complete a survey (without sharing your name or other identifying information) that will be available through a web link . The survey is completely voluntary, but we do hope to get feedback from one member of every household. The parent/guardian survey takes about 12 minutes to complete and will ask questions about your child and about his/her experience in our school. If you have more than one child attending the school, you will be asked to think about the oldest child’s experiences as you answer questions related to their growth.
