Welcome 2022 Chavez Champions
One more of those celebrations will include our virtual semester awards this Friday, 14th. We will recognize:
- Academic achievement with A/AB Honor Roll
- Growth achievement with MAP growth in Math and/or Reading
- New student to Chavez
- Special area class awards
Parents will hear from teachers if their child is receiving an award. Teachers are also sharing zoom links to awards with parents.
We also look forward in January. We have very important months ahead to continue to learn, grow and celebrate. Thank you to our families for your support- together we can do great things. We invite you all to continue to stay plugged in to grade level and campus communications to learn about how you can support your child(ren).
Please keep the lines of communication open - we are here to support your family as we navigate any challenges. It has been my greatest experience to learn families here at Cesar Chavez Elementary. It is an exceptional place to learn!
Your Proud Principal,
Mrs. Christine Gibson

Notes from Nurse Myers
Hello FamiLE! The school clinic could use some donations of gently used bottoms (leggings, shorts, jeans, etc) so that they are available for student emergencies. We need girl and boy bottoms 5T up to size 14/16. If you are cleaning out your closets over the winter break, please keep us in mind. We would be happy to accept any donations. Thank you and Happy Holidays!

Mentors Matter - We NEED You!
This person would check in with them either once a week or twice a month. This check in time would be established based on the mentors schedule and availability. These are quick 20-30 minute visits during the school day. This small investment allows every child to have a champion in their lives.
We want to cast a wide net to find diverse mentors. If you are interested in being a Chavez Champion Mentor please fill out this form: https://forms.gle/qW627Qw9eLs6jwuo8
Please note that it contains a link to fill out the LEISD background check form as well. Here it ease for quick access as well: https://appgarden2.app-garden.com/VolTrackTX061914.nsf
If you have additional questions about the chance to serve in this capacity please let me know. If you know others that might be interested please share this information with them as well.
Thank you for your partnership - we simply could not do this alone!
