Box Tops

Thank you to everyone who submitted Box Tops! We had a total of 2,526 this collection cycle. Congratulations to Mrs. Thompson's room. They are the winners for this collection. They will receive $75 more an activity of their choice.

That puts our total for the year at $658.70. This money helps fund the teacher stipends, field trips, end of the year party, and much more!

Please encourage your child to keep collecting! We will collect again next year. The first collection will be in mid-October.

Classroom Activities

Second Grade Shenanigans

2nd grade students took part in a tie decorating contest while working on the story Mr. Tanen’s Tie Trouble. Mr. Tanen is a principal who is known for his numerous, decorative ties! Our second graders were very creative! The top 3 ties were chosen from each classroom; then, grand prize was awarded to the tie with the most votes. That tie belonged to Sophia Underhill! The students who created the top 12 ties got to wear ties belonging to our principals- Mr. Whitehead and Mr. Murphy- for a day!

Thanks to some generous parents, Mrs. Kappner’s class enjoyed several healthy and delicious “Dr. Seuss” snacks this week. Today we used sliced bananas and strawberries to make cat hats. A big THANKS to our parents!
Mrs. Kappner’s students brainstormed with partners to make a graffiti wall of examples of cause & effect that they found in the book A Bad Case of Stripes.

Fabulous Fourth Grade

Last week, Mr. Widolff's class sampled some lettuce they have been growing in their room. Everyone tried it, and most everyone wanted seconds!

Fantastic Fifth Grade

Read Across America Week!!

"We've Been Booked" - Classrooms have been getting "booked" this week. A bag with a book inside for the class to read aloud together may have shown up hanging on the outside of their door. After they've read the book, they secretly "book" another classroom by hanging it on their door. It's been a fun way for all the classes to enjoy a shared read aloud.
