Notes for the Upcoming Week

*A Message From Mrs. Barousse

The end of the year is fast-approaching, but May and June always prove to be the busiest months! Monday, May 1st is the mid-trimester for Trimester 3. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child's homeroom teacher. Looking ahead to this week, there are several fun events happening at Samuel Mickle School! Mrs. Carr and Mrs. Minner wrap up the last of the 4th grade recorder concerts. Thank you to Mr. McGarrigle for organizing a wonderful concert set that allowed for our young musicians to shine! On Friday, May 5th, the 6th graders will participate in Kingsway Field Day and Kingsway Regional Dance at KMS.

Take Your Child to Work Day was a wonderful way to wrap up the week! If your child had the opportunity to attend work with you, I hope the day was worthwhile and opened your child's eyes to different careers and experiences. At SMS, children were able to enjoy fun activities such as tech time, arts and crafts, games, and wrapped up the day with a concert/dance party assembly!

Character Dares

The purpose of the Character Dare process is to build habits of character by offering consistent, practical ways to engage in the practice of these sometimes-abstract traits. A weekly (and sometimes daily) exercise and check-in around something like kindness helps bring the character trait to life in our real relationships and provides a system for regular conversation and action.

"Integrity" character dare choice boards will be due on May 3rd.
