Health Services update regarding high volume of COVID-related calls/emails
A large number of 622 families, throughout our buildings, have reported positive COVID cases and student close contacts following the winter break. Due to the high volume of COVID-related reports, as well as the follow-up required, it may be several days before Health Services staff respond to your voice message or email.
We ask for your patience as our team continues to care for students in our schools while conducting follow-up and the required reporting. We will follow up on every report received.
If you are reporting your student absent due to a positive COVID case or close contact, please be sure to leave the following information in your message:
Student name, grade, and date of birth
Date symptoms* started (or asymptomatic)
Date student tested positive
Parent/Guardian name, phone number, and email address
NOTE: Your child should not return to school or activities until they have been cleared by a District nurse.
* Symptoms of the Omicron variant can be similar to that of a cold. If your child develops a sore throat, cough, runny or stuffy nose and has fatigue, they need to be tested for COVID-19. Test kits are available for symptomatic students at all district schools. Contact your school to arrange for a contactless pick-up.
There is no change to the Quarantine/Isolation Guidance for District 622. Many of you are aware of the CDC's updated recommendations on isolation and quarantine periods for the general population. The Minnesota Department of Health has not yet adopted this guidance and the District 622 COVID Health & Safety Procedures remain in place for all ISD 622 Schools. Further communication will be sent by the school district if changes are made.
COVID booster clinic - Friday, January 28 at North High School
District 622 is partnering with Ramsey County Public Health to offer another COVID booster clinic on Friday, January 28 from 3 - 6 p.m. at North High School.
Clinic staff will use the Pfizer vaccine to provide boosters for anyone 16 years and older. Boosters are available for people who received their second dose 6 months prior to Jan 28. People who received the Moderna or J&J vaccine initially can get a Pfizer booster.
Parents do not have to be present for 16-year-olds, but parents/guardians need to provide consent virtually through the registration link.
