You will get the paper order form in a folder I am sending home for Open School Night on Wednesday. I will extend the date to order by until September 29th.
Curriculum Update
Reading: We will set up our reading notebook and talk about ways to stay engaged in our reading. I am reading with students to get a better idea of the level we will be working on. Students should bring home their blue bag and spend at least 15 minutes each day reading after school.
Math: We are exploring place value and reviewing the properties of addition and addition strategies.
Writing: We are learning about all the reasons that writers write and trying out different genres of writing. We will begin learning about paragraphs. We will decorate our writer's notebook at the end of the week.
Social Studies: We will begin our study of geography.
This week, we will learn more about author Peter H. Reynolds. He is the author of The Dot, which we read when we celebrated International Dot Day last week. Click here for some tips from Peter about helping your child to be a creative writer!
Reminders!
Please watch the weather and help your child to wear weather appropriate clothes and bring in sweatshirts for chillier days. We try to take our mask breaks outside but when children are in shorts and t-shirts and it is chilly out, that becomes difficult.
Please send in enough water for the day because we do not have a place to refill water bottles right now.
Students need snack each day.
Please check your child's student planner and take home folder daily and empty it out.
Thank you!
