A Word From Our Principals:
Creekside Park Families,
We are starting the second quarter and are very excited by all the learning that has occurred this year. November and December are very important times for students to dive deep into their learning. Last year, Creekside had a 16% absence rate the day after Halloween and a 22% absence rate the day before Thanksgiving. Please help support Creekside with good attendance habits throughout the second quarter. Parents, please also help support learning at home by ensuring students are reading every night, completing any homework, and explaining to a family member what they learn each day. On November 17th, we will be having a family literacy night. This will be a fun night of food and games. For parents, there will be classes on the Science of Reading and best practices to support reading at home. Put it on your calendars!
I would like to give a huge shout-out to our PTA and our PTA President, Robyn Mayfield, for putting on our Fall Carnival. It was an amazing event and it was great seeing all the students in their costumes. Also, a big thank you to Donna Moats for providing parents and kids an opportunity to get books for our school book fair. Over $4,000.00 was sold to help support the school library.
Don't forget to write students' names on winter gear. On any given day, our students wear about 780 gloves, most of which are black or gray. Labeling gear helps us keep it out of the lost and found. All ASD schools go out for recess up to -10°F. Students must have a winter coat, gloves, boots, a hat, and snow pants. If families need help getting winter gear, please call the office; we will be glad to support any way we can.
If you're interested in working with the Creekside Park Team, we have some openings! You can apply HERE.
Take care,
Principal David Christal, and Assistant Principal Kaitlin Tallman

Note from Nurse Lillian
Winter is here and our weather is getting colder. As the temperatures continue to drop, frostbite and frost nip are becoming more of a concern. Please make sure your child has weather appropriate clothing to remain safe and healthy while outdoors. All students have a daily 20 minute outdoor recess. School District Policy states that if a child is healthy enough to come to school, they are expected to participate in all classroom activities, including recess(unless your health care provider notifies the school otherwise).
