Teacher Appreciation Week: May 3-7

A Special Note to our ESSENTIAL TEACHERS AND SUPPORT STAFF!!

Teachers and support staff, thank you for all that you do each and every day! We could not do the work that we do without YOU! You are essential and highly valued. Your consistent dedication, unyielding support, and daily tenacity create learning opporutnties for us all! Thank you for pouring into our scholars, and into each other. I eagerly countdown the next 13 days, not for the workdays to end, but for you to rest and relax, reignite your passion, rejuvenate and refill your tanks. A very smart leader recently shared her thoughts that empty people cannot "pour" into our children. I reflected on the comment, and I couldn't agree more. Very similarly, a car without gas, cannot move! Your filled tank is always needed, and this year, you have pulled from the tank so often to push through for a new day, heartache and loss, trials, and frustration. You've experienced a year unlike any other. This is why I wish for you nothing more than a moment to rest and relax, reignite your passion, rejuvenate and refill your tanks! You are very special, and I am so thankful for each of you. I miss you all dearly and look forward to seeing you very soon!

I cannot close out without paying homage to two great leaders: Ms. Kristen Turner and Ms. Shylonda Pass. Thank you to both leaders for spreading joy all week long through daily interactions, fun moments, dances, surprises and authentic smiles! While, I couldn't be there physically, I felt a part of me walked the halls to share appreciation with the best team in South Fulton. Thank you Ms. Turner and Ms. Pass-Cameron for giving a piece of "me" to the team during such a very special week!

With Sincere Appreciation,

Principal Miley

Jaguar Staff Updates: Happy May! The Finale

Happy MAY!

It's MAY! With only three full weeks, a few days of school remaining; we are well into our final days of the school year. Our scholars have 18 more days until we conclude the school year. This entire year has felt very different, but as I have repeatedly shared, I am very proud of the team's efforts to do their very best in and out of the classroom. I am also very proud of our scholar's and their resistance, and yes, parents, I am proud of you, as well. Change is very hard, mid-year adjustments are even harder, but WE have weathered the storm. Thank you for hanging in there and looking ahead to the light at the end of the tunnel!

There are many positive outcomes to pausing for a moment to regain your composure, pausing to take a deep breath, and sometimes pausing to simply think more clearly. Well, the pause is right around the corner. Hang tight, it’s coming!

The next 18 school days will be very busy for our scholars and teachers. Please be sure to review all of the happenings for this month. Your active engagement is appreciated. Our teachers are preparing to close out the semester by collecting final assignments, reviewing incomplete assignments with scholars, and pushing for a successful end. Parents, we need your help. Please take a moment to review Infinite Campus and peek at your scholar's grades, including missing work. Do not hesitate to reach out to your scholar's teacher(s) to garner more support. Let’s all commit to ending the year with a deeper understanding of how to improve over the summer!

We have a very busy 18 days ahead of us. Next week, we celebrate our teachers! It’s Teacher Appreciation Week, we also have close out activities, honors and recognitions, celebrations and retirements underway. Please stay tuned and connected by reviewing the monthly SMORE.

It’s definitely one that will go down in history as one of a kind. Leading and teaching through a pandemic is an accolade for all!

Again, and as always, thank you for all that you do to ensure we are normalizing excellence!
