Family and Consumer Sciences
Miss Glenn
Miss Glenn's Background
I graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2014, and began a Master's of Arts in Teaching program the next year. This is my second year teaching, and I enjoy the experience to teach students how to become functional members in a family and workplace.
What is FACS, and why is it important?
Family and Consumer Sciences, FACS, is formerly known as Home Economics. FACS teaches students how to juggle the demands of family and work. FACS also teaches students about the many career options available to them, and teaches them the skills needed to achieve their career goals.
Lab Safety
The main rules of the food lab are:
1. Wash your hands first!
2. Put your apron on second!
3. No horseplay.
4. Be prepared with materials from pre-lab.
5. Long hair should be tied up.
6. No cell phones in the food lab.
7. Close toed shoes only.
Fitness Friday
Each Friday FACS students will participate in Fitness Friday in an activity of their choice. If your student cannot participate, I need a medical excuse to prevent counting off in participation.
Bellringers
Each day there will be a bell ringer posted to the board each day. Students will need to write the question as well as a 3-5 complete sentence response. The bell ringer sheet should be turned in on Friday, no exceptions unless there is an excused absence.
I teach because I care!
Your student
In my classroom, my goal is that every one who passes through will know the feeling of community, and what it feels like to have family that is bound by mutual respect and trust. If you ever feel as though this is not the case, please contact me.
Miss Glenn's contact information

Parents,
I will reach out to you quarterly through emails, and periodically through Class Dojo. If you have not received your Dojo login, please contact your student's Encore teacher to receive the link. If I have discipline or grade issues, I will contact for those as well.
Thank you!
