Last Call for Yearbook Orders!
This year, yearbook orders were not available through registration. Yearbook orders are due now. Yearbooks and yearbook signing time in June is a very important time for the students. As you may or may not know, we provide the students time at the end of the year to gather together as a grade level and sign each other’s yearbook. This is a time for celebration and the kids enjoy signing (and having their yearbook signed). It is typical that more than 90% of our students’ families purchase yearbooks.
Yearbooks are being offered for $21 either by check or through the online ordering system. To order a yearbook, either print this form and send in a check with your child.
Questions? Please contact our school secretary, Mrs. Charlotte Reschke, at creschke@d107 or 708-246-3210.
Parent-Student Handbook Committee-Parent Volunteers Requested
We are planning on having our Parent/Student Handbook committee meet on Friday, March 8 from 9:00-10:30 in the middle school conference room. At this meeting, we will review suggestions for changes to our school handbooks for the 2019-2020 school year. We hope to have representation from elementary staff, middle school staff, and parents. If you are interested in being a part of this committee, please email Mr. Sonntag (gsonntag@d107.org) back by the end of the day on Wednesday, March 6.
Although we realize that this time may not be conducive for everyone's participation, we would welcome your voice through feedback about our current handbook. If interested, please read through the current handbook and send Mr. Sonntag your suggestions for improvement for the next school year by Wednesday, March 6. Our current handbook can be found on both schools' websites and is linked here: 18-19 Parent/Student Handbook
We plan to have these updates recommended to the school board at their March meeting.

Tiger Tipline
While it is always best to talk directly to a staff member, we understand that sometimes this can be uncomfortable or difficult for students or parents. At Pleasantdale Middle School, we offer the Tiger Tipline as an anonymous tool for reporting unsafe, uncomfortable, or unkind behaviors and situations. We explicitly teach the students that if they ever see something or hear something that makes them feel unsafe, uncomfortable, or is unkind, either online or in person, they should tell a “trusted adult” which could be parents, school personnel, or other adults in their lives. The Tiger Tipline can be accessed here and we will post the link in Schoology and create a shortcut to the link on the student devices for easy access.
Dates for the Year
If you are like me, you want to know the dates for the year as far in advance as possible. As long as you understand that something may change due to unforeseen circumstances, I’d like to provide you access to the dates we’ve planned for the year (many of which are in the paper calendar you received in the mail). To access the middle school calendar dates, please click here.
