Positive COVID Case Procedures

A few notices have been sent home recently stating that there was a person who tested positive for COVID and was on campus during their infectious period. You may have wondered if that person was in your child's class or in close contact. When a person who tested positive for COVID is on campus we will do the following:

1. Personally call each person who is considered a close contact and provide them with directions regarding quarantine, modified quarantine, or testing.

2. Each person who is a close contact will also receive a text with a letter stating they were a potential close contact.

3. Each child in the class will receive a text with a letter stating that there was a person who tested positive in their class.

4. Each child in the school will receive a text with a letter stating that there was a person who tested positive in their school.

5. Each staff member will receive an email or text with a letter stating that there was a person who tested positive in their school.

Flag Gatherings

Flag Gatherings are monthly assemblies where we recognize students for showing good character. We want to resume Flag Gatherings this year, but at this time, we feel it is best to conduct them via zoom. The Flag Gatherings will be recorded and sent via text message for families to watch their children being recognized. Our first Flag Gathering will be this Friday, October 1st.

October 11th is a Professional Development Day. No School!

PTA

Consider joining Parkview's PTA! Our PTA raises funds for field trips and assemblies for our students. They also have raised money for things such as the digital marquee, musical instruments for the band teacher, and board games to give to students at our yearly Winter Wonderland evening event. They help organize many of our community events that make Parkview such a fun place for our children to go to school, like Pictures with Santa and Literacy Night. Be on the lookout for information on how to join. It should be coming home soon. If you would like to join a PTA meeting, email Mrs. DeLeon at cdeleon@hueneme.org for the Zoom link! Join to help make a difference.

Dogs

Please leave dogs at home when you are coming to pick up your children. Dogs are not allowed on campus at any time unless part of a presentation. We ask that dogs not be brought near other children or community members when you are picking up your children.

Mask Requirements

All students and staff will be required to wear masks while indoors. Masks outdoors will be optional. Please click the link below for specific requirements related to the types of masks that must be worn and to learn about who is exempt.
