Comprehensive School Counseling Program
Students are typically identified as candidates for participating in a small group by their teacher, based on observation and data from staff related to students across settings, or across years. Since the times are different now, students may be having challenges with big emotions, new worries, or other issues that we may not be aware of or may not present when we interact with them.

Parent Information and Collaboration Chats
Distance learning is hard. It is hard because it is new and different. It is hard right now because there are many other issues and obstacles that are impacting our lives and/or the lives of others in our community. As parents and facilitators of our youth's' education, there may be many things to consider and plan around, such as managing screen time, establishing consistent and healthy routines, working through disappointment and frustrations, in addition to meeting basic needs for food, shelter, emotional engagement and connection, and self-care.
We would like to help by providing time for parents to come together to learn about, collaborate, and problem-solve some of these challenges. I plan to work with other school counselors, social workers, and other specialists in the field to cover a range of topics.
To help us design these groups so it can be useful to you, please complete this Parent Chats Survey

Childcare Resources
Eugene School District 4J is providing space and partnering with local childcare providers to offer families childcare options for their elementary school students.
Childcare programs for students in grades K–5 will be hosted at four school sites across the district, in addition to other community childcare options. Childcare will be offered at the school sites at least until students return to in-person learning in a hybrid model, which will be January 5 at the earliest.
Please contact the providers to enroll in childcare or to ask about financial assistance. Per their agreement with 4J, these childcare providers must offer some scholarship opportunities.
