Special Olympics Polar Plunge: We surpassed our goal, and Mr. Wilson will do the ice water challenge Wednesday, 2/16 during FLEX in the courtyard. Coach Habovick’s students will dump the water with the assistance and support of Ms. Senesi’s students.

Arts/Athletics/JROTC Updates:
- Wrestling: Region Champs!!! Team finished in round 3 of the playoffs and 11 individual wrestlers will compete in the upper state finals this week.
- Basketball: Girls Basketball - Region Champs!!! Playoffs start this week with Ladies at home Wednesday and Men's basketball on the road to AC Flora Thursday.
Spring Sports: Practices and scrimmages started this week. This is the busiest sports season: track, ladies and men’s lacrosse, men’s tennis, men’s golf, baseball, softball, ladies and men’s soccer. Come out and support our teams when you can!
- Band: 2 big wins at CWEA this Saturday! See more below.
- JROTC: The Corps of Cadets travelled to Alabama for the Navy Nationals. Over 660 Navy JROTC Units competed in this event and our CR Corps of Cadets came in 16th - WOW!!!
- Theater: Puffs is coming to The Ridge later this month. Ticket info below!

Graduation Information
Senior graduation deliveries are March 14th during lunches. Seniors MUST purchase a cap and gown kit from Jostens to participate in the graduation ceremony.
HBCU Fair and Spotlight on the CR Diversity Club
Several Copperheads were selected to attend the HBCU Fair this week. It was an opportunity for students to explore next steps and multiple students received college acceptances and scholarship offers.
The Diversity Club creates awareness and understanding in our campus community of different points of view and cultural backgrounds. Watch this feature from Wednesday's CHU for more info on how the club is making an impact at The Ridge!
AP/Dual Credit Night Information
AP/Dual Credit Night February 15 @ 5:30 Virtual Meeting Want to learn more about course offerings in Advanced Placement and Dual Credit classes for college credit? Video links will be emailed prior to Feb. 15 so that students and parents can view info on these course offerings. After viewing the info, please plan on attending the Virtual AP/ DC Night to join the Google Meet sessions, meet the teachers, and ask questions about the course. These presentations will help you make informed decisions on which AP and/or DC courses may be right for you.
Artistic Awards
10th grader Ethan Sellers Soto received a Scholastic Gold Key for three of his paintings. To emphasize how remarkable this is, there were only 18 Gold Keys given in the painting category in North and South Carolina, and he received three of them! His work will be on display at the Mint Museum in Charlotte March 13-April 10.

The Venom Yearbook Club has been busy working on the 2021-2022 Catawba Ridge High School yearbook! The yearbook will be packed with student portraits, events, sports, candids, and activities and is the best and most permanent way for your student to remember this school year.
To be 100% guaranteed to have a yearbook, purchase by February 21. After that date, yearbook purchases cannot be guaranteed. We want every student and family that wants a yearbook to have one, so please make sure to purchase by February 21st!

Jostens Class of 2024 Ring Orders
Jostens Class Ring packets were distributed on Monday, Feb. 7, to all Sophomores. Parents and students can view the Class Ring Video HERE for detailed info on designing and ordering class rings, as well as seeing what’s new for your class. Jostens will take Class Ring orders online at Jostens.com and at CRHS on Thursday , Feb. 17 during lunches. Order your class ring on or before order day and receive a FREE Class of 2024 Tumbler from Jostens on Order day.

The most current Coronavirus Information can be found on the Fort Mill School District Web Page which includes any updates from DHEC. Cases in the US and South Carolina are being updated daily. The web page will be updated as the District receives new information or recommendations from DHEC.
