Oil Spill Prevention and Liability
Act Of 2004
- It amends the OilPollution Act of 1990 to double liability limits associated with oil spills for double-hall tank vessels, other vessels, offshore facilities (except deep water ports), and onshore facilities and deep water ports
- Authorizes secretary of department which the coast guard is operating to establish separate liability limits for transportation of oil by vessel to deep water ports
- Also amends Ports and Waterways Safety Act
