Roadrunner Staff Spotlight

Hello Roadrunners! I’m Mimi Marrocco and I am proud to be the Elementary Resource Counselor at Loma Ridge. I grew up in Irvine and am a product of IUSD attending from elementary all the way to high school. I love working with the community I grew up in! I received my bachelor’s degree from SDSU and my master’s at University of San Diego. In 2010, I moved to Sonoma County to start my career as a school counselor. Since then, I’ve found my passion is working and supporting the social emotional development of our young students specifically in elementary school. I love seeing our little roadrunners learn more about themselves, each other and how they impact our Loma community. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my husband Joe, our 3 yr. old son, Joseph and dog, Tucker. We are also expecting a baby girl any day now! We love living by the beach, cooking and going on new family adventures together.

A Message from Nurse Arya

IUSD supports a 10 day quarantine for families who travel out of state. Absences related to voluntary quarantine are excused and students will complete asynchronous work while they are home. Please see the CDPH January 6th Travel Advisory notice for state recommendation.

Please note that Covid testing immediately following travel may not reflect the true extent of exposure to Sars-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19 as the virus can take 5-14 days to incubate within the body before a person can test positive. Please consider the voluntary quarantine as a way to assist us in promoting a safe and healthy environment for students and staff. For local testing click on the link provided: IRVINE-COVID Testing

For additional questions please feel free to contact our school nurse Jeannine Arya at jeanninearya@iusd.org or our health office assistant Saba Karim at sabakarim@iusd.org .
