Hello Trojans,

The roller coaster ride continues, from remote to in-person back to remote learning...we were so ready for our students to be back in the building! We will try again next week, in the meantime we need all students to communicate with their teachers throughout the week and complete all assignments in Schoology. If we have snow, we will still have virtual learning taking place unless we get a message from the board office, this keeps us from extending the school year.

Next Monday, February 15th is now an instructional day for all students and not a non-instructional day. Please make sure you join your teachers during your assigned TEAMS meetings and complete your work. Let's hope that we are finally out of the "Red" so we can get our students back in the building!

First semester report cards were mailed out this week. Parents/guardians, please take the time to review them and have those meaningful conversations with your child. Students that had a successful first semester, GREAT work...let's keep it going second semester! Students that struggled throughout the first semester and failed graduation required courses, we are offering opportunities to "recover" some courses depending on the final grade and course failed.

We will offer "5th Block" to students that qualify as an opportunity to recover credits Monday through Thursday from 3:30 to 5:00 PM (meals and transportation will be provided). Students that put forth the effort will have the chance to earn a D for their final grade. Later this Spring, we will also offer AP Exam Prep and SAT Test Prep during "5th Block" Additional information will be shared with students and families soon. Please take advantage of these opportunities!

Best Way to Improve Student Achievement:

"We can't Teach you, if we can't Reach you!"

Attention ALL Students...please stop what you are doing and communicate with all your teachers now!!! The #1 barrier is no communication! If teachers hear from you, they know how to help you. Each day take a few minutes to check-in with your teachers via TEAMS meetings and/or email. Complete all assignments in Schoology to the best of YOUR ability...something is better than nothing. Remote Learning is TOUGH on all of us, but we all have the ability to try our best and if you try your best, our teachers can give their best which will improve student achievement!

Hope to see you next week,

Mr. Dufrene
