Happy New Year and Welcome to 2016!

The Purpose of "Technology" in Education

I have found my favorite use of technology is to make students’ thinking more transparent. That is, I can use technology to gain greater access to students’ ideas and interpretations. Technology allows students to collaborate, reflect and share, to better research, to make something that matters, keep digital records, and improve on assessments of material learned. As you become more and more comfortable with different types of "technology" you will see how it broadens opportunities, diversifies instruction, and engages your students. Our last faculty meeting proved that when provided with choice and opportunities to grow with Technology our staff is ready and willing to share and learn. Stayed tuned for MORE opportunities to learn the things that YOU ARE INTERESTED IN...Sarah and I are continuously available to you and want to serve you in anyway that we can.

Just a little more about Voxer...

Some of us have been using Voxer for some time...but just think of the possibilities if everyone in our school used it. Teachers are using it in order to get connected with other teachers, to share their work, challenges and victories. Most educators believe that Voxer is an amazingly useful tool as it makes a collaborative space for educators to share and getting ideas, etc. Voxer is a world famous app that also enables teachers to create personalised podcast and robust PLN. Collaborating inreal time is just amazing - and even better because you can HEAR each other. Through Voxer you can hear the passion, excitement, disappointment, frustration and a variety of feelings that are hard to translate through written word. Sharing is not just exclusive to our building, but to ANYONE in the world who shares the app...JUST THINK OF THE POSSIBILITIES!!!!

Zaption must for any flipped classroom instructor, this online tool and accompanying app helps you make your videos interactive with images, text, questions and sketching. It works with YouTube and other video sites, and it offers analytics so you can figure out what’s engaging your students and what’s not. Students can become the "teachers" by creating lessons to share with others.
