Taher Inc. is our school food service for the 2023-2024 school year. At Taher their enthusiasm for food translates into a better experience for all. Meals are made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Dishes are prepared from scratch. Menus are inspired by their Chef Council's world travels. There are plenty of healthy options, supplemented by nutritional information and education and we are so excited to be partnering with them this year.
High School
**Juniors and Seniors are allowed to leave campus for lunch.
** Grades 5th-12 are allowed to purchase ala carte.
Drop off/ Pick up Procedures
Doors open for all building at 7:05 am. Please do not drop your child off before this time.
Preschool
We have a specific process for dropping your preschool child off for school and picking your child up from school. Parents/Guardians must sign their child in at the beginning of each day. Additional information on specific arrival and dismissal procedures will be provided by the school and discussed at Back to School Night.
Car Rider Drop off: All K-4 students will be dropped off at the East entrance by the playground. They may eat breakfast or sit in a designated area until 7:35. At 7:35 they will be dismissed to their classrooms. The bell rings at 7:35, if you are dropping your child off after 7:35, then you must sign your child in at the elementary office.
Car Rider Pick up: All K-4 students will be picked up at the East entrance by the playground. Pick up time starts at 2:20 pm for car riders.
Middle School
Drop off: All middle school students will be dropped off at the high school entrance. They may eat breakfast or report to the middle school gym. If you are dropping your child off after 8:00, then you must sign your child in at the middle school office.
Pick up: 5th grade will be picked up in the circle drive by the elementary office. 6th-8th grade pick up will be at the high school entrance.
High School
Drop off: All middle school students will be dropped off at the high school entrance. They may eat breakfast or report to the high school gym.
Pick up: 9-12th pick up will be at the high school entrance.
Title I Parent Meetings
SC Elementary & SC Middle School are Title 1 buildings. Please mark your calendar to attend our Title 1 Parent Meetings, we will be discussing important information such as our Title 1 Schoolwide program, academic programs offered, identifying students for Title 1 services, and parent involvement. Meetings will be held in the Elementary Library/Media Center.

Student Dress Code
The Scott City R-I School District is committed to the total education process of their students. The conduct, manners, appearance, and dress of each individual student play a role in this process.
● Students are expected to be clean, neat, and modest during the school day and at school functions.
● Clothing that makes reference to tobacco, alcohol, or illegal substances are not permitted.
● Students will remove head coverings in the building and classrooms unless prescribed by a physician or previously approved by the school’s administration for religious reasons.
● The principal/faculty member may restrict a student’s appearance or mode of dress that disrupts the educational process or constitutes a threat to health and safety.
In an attempt to further clarify the dress code the following guidelines will be followed.
● Shirts/tops must be long enough to cover the torso and must have sleeves.
● Pants/shorts/skirts must be worn at the waist and must cover to mid-thigh. No pajama pants.
● No holes in pants/shorts above mid-thigh that reveal skin or undergarments.
● No undergarments should be visible. This includes see through outerwear.
● No clothing which illustrates with words, symbols, or pictures condoning alcohol, violence,
profanity, or membership or affiliation in any gang or cult.
● No flip flops.
Students who violate the dress code will receive one warning from the office. In an attempt to keep the student in the educational environment, upon warning, the student may be issued appropriate clothing for the remainder of the day. Continued violations will result in punishment according to the student discipline policy.
