Teacher Appreciation week
Kindergarten
This week in Kindergarten we had a great time learning about physics and gravity with our egg drop projects! We also sailed the seven seas learning about pirates from around the world in history and present day.
Our favorite thing was having a marine biologist come and talk to us about ocean conservation, sharks and Bimini research facility in the Bahamas!
First Grade
I'm happy to announce that Ms. DiNuzzo’s whole class will be attending the SSYRA ice cream party on Friday, May 10th! As a class, we've read all of the Sunshine Shine State Books except one from the list (but we plan to)! Congratulations class!
I’m also happy to announce that students have shown growth on their iReady Reading.
This week in Reading, we continue to compare and contrast a variety of Cinderella stories from Chinese Cinderella, Yeh-Shen, to the male version Prince Cinders.

The students in Ms. Calabrese’s and Ms. Blaske’s math and science classes had an awesome time practicing for the FCAT and FSA with a test prep carnival.
Students worked in groups to complete math and science questions to earn tickets. With their tickets they bought prizes and treats such as popcorn and ice cream. Thank you to all the generous parents that donated items and took the time to make the carnival a success!
Remember, the permission slips for the Animal Kingdom field trip are due Monday, May 6th. We are still looking for more chaperones. Please contact your child’s homeroom teacher if you are interested. Thank you for your continued support!
