Early Life
Derek was born on June 26, 1974. He was born and grew up for a little of his life in Pequannock, New Jersey. He grew up playing many sports including baseball, football, and basketball. His dad also said when he played little league Derek said when he grew up he was going to be a shortstop for the New York Yankees. He also had to move to Kalamazoo, Michigan so that his dad could get a job as a clinical therapist, and his mother found a job as a credit manager.
Impact on Society and Life
Derek grew up playing many different sports (including). He always said that he would play baseball and grow up and play for the New York Yankees. He also loved to watch the Yankees play. Every summer he would go to his grandparents and sit and watch the Yankees games. As he grew older but still young he got really good at baseball and finally made it to the minors (the league you play in before the pros). Then at a young age he was a first round draft pick into the pros, and ended playing shortstop for the Yankees. He was also inducted into the Hall of Fame. He recently retired from baseball and has more time to his girlfriend and says he doesn't have any but wants children
Career
Jeter was a great american baseball player, and played shortstop for the New York Yankees. He was great at both offense and defense and played 20 excellent seasons in the MLB. In all of his twenty years he has had overall 3,465 hits and an overall batting average of .310. He also has many fans all across america and always pleases them with a show, and I mean even if you don't like the Yankees you like Derek Jeter. Overall Derek Jeter is one of the best players of this time and possibly of all time, he is also an amazing person and has many different talents.
