SVT & STEM Newsletter
May 2022
Message from Katie:
SVT Families,
We hope this month’s newsletter finds you well. Last month went by quickly after returning from spring break. We were able to have our first dance since 2019 and it was quite the success! It was so fun to see everyone dressed their best and the creative masks many students had. I have no doubt that May will evaporate just as quickly.
We get to start the month celebrating our teachers with Teacher Appreciation Week! I am so thankful for the work they do to support all of our students. If you have time, please be sure to thank them for their hard work. While the last couple of years have been challenging, they have really been the glue that has held SVT together.
This month many of our students will be completing state testing and AP testing; please refer to the dates listed below and/or the letter you received last month. Please do your best to have your student at school the day of testing. We wish them all the best as they complete these assessments! All students will have a final opportunity to complete the Panorama survey in mid-May. We appreciate getting to hear from our students on what is going well and how we can continue to improve SVT.
We are also preparing for the 7th Annual SVT Trade Show! We are thrilled to have this event back to give students the opportunity to showcase their work. Students will be working in classes to prepare their projects and presentations. Be sure to pencil in the date to join us on June 2nd.
Our last progress reports of the year will be May 17th. Please check PowerSchool for these updates and encourage your student to get things made up and turned in as soon as possible. We have after school support on Tuesdays, from 2:15-4:00 PM, and teachers are available before and after school. If your student has any questions about a class, please have them contact their classroom teacher as soon as possible.
We look forward to the last full month of school for the 2021-22 school year!
Regards,
Katie Louie

SVT 10th Grade State Testing
Hello SVT Families,
State testing for 10th grade students is approaching! Please read the letter below for details about dates and times for our 10th graders to complete testing; sophomores take both the Math and Language Arts exams. It would be a great help if you could try and avoid scheduling appointments for these times. Additionally, please help remind students to bring a charged device and headphones.
Thank you,
Katie Louie
