Upper Elementary - Announcement
She will spend six weeks this summer in Houston training for Upper Elementary and about five weeks next summer. The time commitment for Montessori training is huge. It's an indicator, not only of our teacher's commitment to providing the best education possible, but also of their dedication to their students.
This means, of course, that we are filling positions in Lower Elementary. Stay tuned for more announcements soon.
A Note From Mrs. Fancher......
I know this semester seems to be one of big announcements. So, I hope you view my move to Upper Elementary with as much hope and excitement as I do. When I informed my husband of Mrs. Clayton's move, his first response was, "why don't you do it?" The more I reflected on it, the more I realized how well Upper Elementary and I would "fit." Mrs. Core jokingly referred to me as Goldilocks. I was in Primary for 8 years, Lower Elementary for 3 years, and "This one's just right!" I know I have a lot of work ahead of me and big to shoes to fill, but I'm certain this is right for me and the school. Thank you to all the families and staff for your support and faith in me.
Book Fair - Buy One, Get One - Starts Monday!
Last Day of School Celebration - Friday, May 22
There are a few things to note:
1. Student Talent Show: We are bringing back the student talent show. Individual or group acts are welcome. There is a limit of one solo and one group talent per student. The logistical details (i.e. sound) are in process now. We'll have more information on that in the very near future. But, it's not too early for your child to start planning and practicing. To enter your child, text or call Jenny Chaffey at: (479) 353-5074. Please tell her their name, age, and talent!
2. Lunch: Lunch will be catered by Ralph's Pink Flamingo. If your child is enrolled in Lunch Bunch, their ticket is covered. Parents and other children not registered for Lunch Bunch will need to buy a ticket at $5/each. Reservations must by made by Friday, May 15 in order for us to have a proper head count. Ticket forms will go home next Friday. OR, you can send $5/person to school in an envelope labeled with "Last Day of School" and the names of those for whom you are buying a ticket. A vegetarian option will be available, so please indicate if you need a vegetarian dish.
Please make plans to join us that day for the fun and celebration! The talent show will begin at 10:00 a.m. with lunch to follow.
Conferences Next Week
Don't forget that Tuesday night Primary families will provide dinner for the staff. Thursday evening is elementary's turn! It's great if you can let Ms. Clamser know what you will bring, but it's not a requirement. Thank you for your help!
