A Letter from the PTO: Multicultural Night Needs Parent Volunteers ASAP to Help Organize/Execute the April Event
Hi!
The Henry PTO is in need of a group of 4 - 5 Henry parents who can plan, coordinate, and execute this year’s Henry Multicultural Night at the school. This year‘s Multicultural Night is already scheduled for Friday, April 28. The families that were previously committed for the committee unfortunately have had an emergency and another is out of the country, which is preventing them from going forward with the plan. Now is the time to make a difference for your school, please know this is a PTO sponsored event.
However, if there are no volunteer families to step up and plan this event, unfortunately we won’t be able to have one this year.
So this cry for help is immediate and extremely necessary.
Our students and families learn so much about the world and each other through this amazing evening, Multicultural Night. It would be a sad time if we weren’t able to plan for it this year. Please email henrypto@gmail.com if you can help and we will get you in touch with our contacts and get you started. Thank you!
From,
The Henry PTO

A Message from Nurse Munch
Spring allergy season is just around the corner. Common symptoms include sneezing, itchy or runny nose, itchy or watery eyes, headache, or cough. Encouraging children to wash their hands and face after being outside on windy days or staying indoors can help. However, if your child has persistent symptoms consider speaking with your health care provider about medication which can help control symptoms.
Symptoms of spring allergies can overlap with colds and the flu. As a reminder, to help minimize the spread of illness, children should stay home if they have:
- A fever of equal or greater than 100.4. If a child has a fever they must stay home until they have been fever free for 24 hours without taking medication to reduce their fever
- Vomiting. If a child vomits, they should stay home for 24 hours after the last episode
- Diarrhea. If a student has more than one episode of diarrhea, they need to stay home until symptoms have resolved for 24 hours.
- Persistent cough or significant nasal congestion, especially if allergy medication doesn't seem to be helping. Even if your child doesn't have a fever, if they are feeling unwell, it is hard for them to learn and they can spread germs to others.
If you would like your child to receive medication at school, like Tylenol or Zyrtec, the following form needs to be submitted along with the medication in the original packaging. All medication must be FDA approved prescription or over the counter medication. Medication Authorization Form
