Scheduling Night
Thank you to all who attended Scheduling Night. Click the link below to access the information that was presented in the 9-12 Programming Presentation and in the AP Information Presentation.
We will be meeting with students when we return from Winter Break to discuss class offerings and begin the course selection process.
Information Regarding the Misuse of Technology
We have recently experienced a number of issues with internet connectivity due to students using VPN (Virtual Private Network) on their cell phones. The main issue results in the district internet connection becoming overloaded and the school and district lose their connection to the internet. As you can understand, this is a major disruption to the teaching and learning at the high school (and has been at times disruptive to all of the BPS school)
Per the AUP, VPN usage is strictly prohibited and will result in the loss of school Wi-Fi privileges on the phone. The AUP states the following; “If a user is using a non-approved VPN, they may lose their privilege of using the school network system including Wi-Fi access.”
Effective, Monday, February 24, any student caught using a VPN on their phone will lose phone Wi-Fi privileges.
Please take some time to review the Acceptable Use Policy with your children and if there are any questions regarding the policy, please feel free to contact me.

I hope everyone enjoys the upcoming mid-winter break. This weekend marks the end of winter sports for most of our teams with our Wrestlers competing in district competitions and our remaining indoor track participants competing at the state meet at Reggie Lewis Arena.
Hockey and girls hoop wraps up this weekend while our boys' basketball team will close out the season and wait for their first-round game after the break.
Finally, our Competition Cheer team will host the TVL and Invitational competition on Thursday, February 27th. I hope our teams will return the favor and show up to support the team.
MARK YOUR CALENDAR: AWARDS NIGHT WILL BE HELD MARCH 9th @ 6pm in the auditorium. All winter athletes are invited to turn out to view the team videos and support our varsity teams.
SPRING SPORTS MEET THE COACH for players and parents will be held immediately following awards night ceremony at approximately 7 pm.
LAST CALL FOR EARLY SPRING SPORTS REGISTRATION!
This weekend is your last opportunity to register, PAY AND SAVE $50 for Spring Sports registration. On Tuesday, UNIPAY is set to automatically increase the cost of spring sports from $200 to $250.
The $50 discount is the incentive offered to register early and the benefit helps our coaches and athletic trainer prepare for the upcoming season. It also helps me determine if we can in fact offer sub-varsity teams based on registration numbers.
The added discount of $50 for three-season student-athletes remains in effect.
Please note that if you have registered and not paid that the higher payment will be due.
I will be in the office over school vacation to process checks which can be made payable to BHS ATHLETICS. If you have any questions please email me at mconnor@bpsdk12.org
