Mann Behavior Expectations
CLICK ON THE IMAGE (to the left) TO ACCESS OUR BEHAVIOR MATRIX. This document outlines our behavior expectations for every area of the building. Teachers will continue to reteach and practice these expectations throughout the school year with their students. Feel free to review these expectations with your child at home to help reinforce positive choices while at school.
A Note from Principal Payne . . .
Hello Mann Families -
I hope you and your families had a restful and enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday and break while staying safe and healthy.
There are a few important items I wanted to share with you as we enter the last month of 2020 and head of into 2021.
As we shift into January 2021, shifts will be made to our current class lists as we welcome back some of our teachers currently teaching virtually and add sections of some grade levels. This may cause shifts in classroom placements and teacher assignments. I do not have specific answers at this time, but wanted you to be aware of this upcoming change that may affect many of our students for the second semester. I will communicate with families as soon as I know in what ways these shifts and additional classroom sections will affect our building. I know that as we make shifts, this will not be ideal for our teachers or students, but appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we work to create balanced class lists that will help our entire student body be successful and keep class sizes small.
Class Holiday Parties will continue for 2020. However, unfortunately we will be unable to invite outside visitors to these class parties as we usually do during past years. Teachers will send home information regarding parties and ask for donations to make their parties a memorable experience for our students, but this will take place with only Mann students and staff. No homemade goods or open packages of food or beverages will be accepted and individually wrapped items are highly encouraged. Holiday Class Parties have been scheduled for Tuesday, December 22nd.
With the arrival of Baby Payne expected in January, I will be taking some time away from my school family to spend with my home family. A substitute principal will serve in my place to support our students, staff and families during this time. At this time, I do not know who this individual will be, but it is often a retired SPS Principal or current SPS Assistant Principal or Community Liaison. I will communicate with you to introduce this individual as soon as I am made aware. It will be difficult for me to be away from our Mann Family and I will miss our students tremendously, but know all will be in good hands. One important thing to note right away will be the importance of continued use of carline tags. This will help a new individual get to know you and your car and help to keep afternoon pick up quick and safe for all. In the coming weeks, we will be handing out new carline tags to all afternoon cars.
Thank you all for your continued support of our school. I am so proud to be a part of such a wonderful school community and family.
-Principal Payne
