Titian was born in 1477 in Pieve di Cadore, Italy. He died on 27 August 1576.
His real name was Tiziano Vecellio. In English his name is translated too Titian
He spent most of his life in Venice Italy.
Learned stylistic lessons with and at Bellini. Bellini had his own studio which Titian studied at.
Titian was mostly an artist/painter. He did get married and had 4 kids.
Titian had many patrons some of the most popular were spanish Habsburg, Gonzaga of Mantua and many popes. Titian was almost as famous as Michelangelo. Titian worked with several popes. He had met Charles V who was a big fan of Titian's work along with his son. (http://ic.galegroup.com/ic/suic/ReferenceDetailsPage/ReferenceDetailsWindow)
"... three famous mythological paintings, Worship of Venus(1518-1519), Bacchus and Ariadne(1522-1523), and Pesaro Madonna(1519-1526)" (below). http://ic.galegroup.com/ic/suic/ReferenceDetailsPage/ReferenceDetailsWindow
This piece is one of his more famous paintings. This is called Pesaro Madonna.
It was created in 1519-1526 in Venice Italy.
Titian tried to bring religion into his paintings because the Pesaro family was painted in a church.
I find this piece interesting because it is a portrait for a family and not just his own amusement so this means he was being paid which could get his career started.
This painting mostly shows Humanism because he focused on the skills of his patrons or his models.
