Monte the Tiger's Weekly Update
News from Buena Vista Montessori ~ Friday, May 12th
Happy Friday!
It has been an exciting week in May! To start the week, we celebrated two of our teachers at the Crystal Apple Award Ceremony Monday night. Make sure to congratulate Catherine Tantengco and Michele Bueter for winning this prestigious award! Thanks to everyone that joined us for the Luau, we were sad the weather wasn't cooperative but enjoyed the sunny disposition of all who attended! Shout out to the extra staff efforts and to Tammy and Karen B for managing the meal details and the money!
The students were able to attend the book fair this week, which means several of you received wish lists and were able to purchase books for your children. Thanks for continuing to encourage the love of reading by helping children find books that interest them. In addition to a couple field trips we wrapped up this week with the Lower El Plays, Art Show, and Book Fair at the Enchanted Evening!
The staff is working hard to provide exciting learning experiences and interesting lessons for the final seven days of school with some "bridging" ceremonies and Tiger Island still to come. There is excitement in the air with so many exciting experiences. We hope you are enjoying this time as well!

Crystal Apple Teacher Award
Catherine Tantengco and Michele Bueter were honored at the District 11 ceremony as 2023 Crystal Apple Award winners. It was an honor to attend and hear about the wonderful teachers across the district making an impact with students. The highlight of the evening was seeing two of our own hard working teachers honored for the work they do. Each of them are passionate about what they do, and create learning experiences for students that feel safe and supported in their educational journey. We are grateful for their contributions to our school community and are proud to have them on our team!
