Czech Traditional Dance

Some people celebrate a day called St.Joseph's day that day is right around St. Patricks day St.Joseph's day was created by the Czechs. They also started the tradition of coloring Easter eggs but they used to call it Kraslice. They also started the tradition of Christmas!

If they started Christmas wouldn't it make sense that they might have started St.Nicholas well they did!The burning of the witches on April 30th

On the evening of April 30th, Czechs gather to build a bonfire and prepare an effigy of the witch that kept winter around so long. Czechs used to believe that the power of the witches would weaken as the weather got warmer. so they thought that if they made something that looked like a witch and burned it, they could finally get rid of the cold weather.
