MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Ben Franklin Families,
First, I hope that you had a fantastic weekend. It’s always nice to take a bit of a break to unwind and relax before getting back to it on Monday. Here are this week’s read alouds from our staff. We hope that you enjoyed last week’s! We’re very excited to share many more with you as we finish out the school year. :) If you would like to view old ones again, you’re welcomed to do so by checking out last week’s BF Weekly Bulletin.
Please enjoy the following stories read aloud by staff members. :)
Read By:
Mrs. Finner. If I Only Had a Green Nose by Max Lucado
Mrs. Jermstad. I’m Bored by Michael Ian Black
Mrs. Dahl. Chicks and Salsa by Aaron Reynolds
Mrs. Bullock. My Family Plays Music by Judy Cox
Mrs. Borchers. Superhero Instruction Manual by Kristy Dempsey
This Wednesday, May 6, is Blue Shirt Day! The first Wednesday of the month we typically wear blue to represent our support for each other and our community as well as to raise anti-bullying awareness. Show us your blue shirt on Wednesday, May 6! You can email your students’ pictures directly to me at sarah.edbauer@franklin.k12.wi.us. I will add them to this slideshow so we can connect and demonstrate community and support for each other. <3 Be sure to check back to see all the blue shirts.
Please continue to remind your student to attend conferring sessions with teachers and staff. We are here to help students continue learning and to continue connecting as we finish this school year. It is very important that students attend their weekly conferences with teachers so that they can ask questions, teachers can hear how they’re doing academically, and so they can give them feedback and points to focus on during the week. Additionally, many staff members are holding whole class meetings to check in and foster a sense of community. While extra, they definitely make the day more interesting and help keep students connected during a time of isolation. Thank you for working to have your students attend these as well.
As we come up to our second month out of school, we wanted to take a moment to tell you how much we miss and love you. We know how hard being away from school has been. We also know how much hope and light our students have! We wanted to take a few minutes to let you know how much we miss you, love you, and to keep going strong! :) Take a few minutes to check out this video. We hope it brings you some joy!
As usual, if you need any additional information about district happenings, please be sure to check out the District Family Newsletter that goes out on Fridays. It’s got great information and vital updates happening across FPS. If you have questions about any of this, please feel free to reach out directly to me.
Have a fantastic week,
Ms. Edbauer
PAWS DAY IS WEDNESDAY
FIFTH GRADE T-SHIRTS
Fifth grade families,
Please take a few minutes to fill out this survey using your student’s email about 5th grade t-shirts. We’re working on collecting information from families who would like to order and then will follow up with how to go about getting them once we’ve got the details worked out. Teachers have also posted this in the students’ Google Classrooms, so if you have already filled it out, that’s perfect. Finally, if you are unsure of the cost, please sign up and we will work it out once we’ve got all of the shirt details. Thank you!
