Stage Notes
East Lincoln High School Chorus & Theatre Newsletter
October 2021
The Stage Notes Newsletter is published the first of every month and contains lots of information about both the Theatre Arts and Choral Music programs at East Lincoln High School. We want to try not only to get the word out about upcoming performances, but also to keep our community up-to-date on what our students are doing and how they can partner with us to produce the highest quality programs.
If you have friends, family, or neighbors who would enjoy this monthly look into theatre and chorus, share with them our website, www.EastLincolnOnStage.org, and they can sign up to receive the newsletter at the bottom of any page.
Thanks for being a part of our performing arts community!

Carolina Classic National Anthem
A group of chorus and show choir students opened Saturday's Carolina Classic Marching Band Contest with the National Anthem. We were glad to be a part of this annual event that brings great musicians to our campus!
Mustangs' Got Talent Was A Success!
The first edition of Mustangs' Got Talent was a great success! The student performers did a magnificent job. J
ack Knight drummed his way into
First Place.
Caleb Clark spun his way into
Second Place, and
Jordan Williams took home the
Audience Choice award.
Keep your eyes peeled for the next edition. You may not have to wait until next school year!
Wicked the Musical flew into Charlotte and we couldn't pass up the opportunity to see this amazing show! Some of the students experienced their first Broadway show in the same theatre where their teacher experienced his a "few" years earlier! Wicked NEVER disappoints!
Select East Lincoln StageHANDS As Your Amazon Smile Chairty!
We are always looking for ways that our community can support our programs at no cost to them. Amazon Smile is one of those programs. The amount Amazon donates is small, but every dollar can make a difference.
What do you need to know?
- If you select East Lincoln StageHANDS as your charity, 0.5% of your purchases will be donated to our not-for-profit booster organization.
- If you order online, you MUST make sure that you start at SMILE.AMAZON.COM rather than the regular amazon.com. There is no difference in the sites other than one donates to our program and the other does not.
- If you use the AMAZON APP on your phone, you must ENABLE AMAZON SMILE in the app. Just go to SETTINGS, select AMAZON SMILE, and turn it on for your phone.
That is all there is to it. We would love for you to help us spread the word to friends and family who may not already be supporting a charity through their Amazon purchases.
"I WISH THERE WERE EAST LINCOLN LANYARDS!"
We Heard You, And They Are Here!
Have you wished someone was selling East Lincoln lanyards so you could show your MUSTANG PRIDE while hanging on to your keys and nametag? Well, we heard that several times and decided to make it happen. The East Lincoln StageHANDS are selling ELHS lanyards, for $5. With a detachable "J' hook, these lanyards are versatile enough for just about anyone.
You can pick yours up by visiting the school between 8 AM and 3 PM, or at any of our concerts or productions.
We are so grateful to the local businesses and organizations who have already joined us as sponsors and advertisers for 2021. It is not too late to become a sponsor or add your business to our current list of advertisers. Check out the forms below for more information on becoming a supporter in 2021.
Did you know that one piece of music for a choir of 20 costs $55 making the total cost for a concert around $500?
Did you know that it costs around
$2,000 for rights, royalties, and materials for a musical production? Those costs do not include costumes, sets, make-up, special effects, or musicians. Straight plays are a bit cheaper, but still have some of the same monetary needs.
While expensive, these productions are amazing and wonderful laboratory settings for students to act, create, and collaborate all while learning a plethora of skills that will serve them both in the arts and in their future academic and professional endeavors.
Here is where YOU come in! Sponsors and advertisers help us produce FOUR CHORAL CONCERTS, FOUR MAINSTAGE PRODUCTIONS, TWO CLASS PRODUCTIONS, and a partridge in a pear tree (well, not really!)
If you have any questions about our programs, the levels of partnership, or how the funds are used, please contact Mr. Franklin.
We look forward to seeing your businesses and organizations in our 2021 playbills!
