The classroom happenings in Room 105!
A note from Miss Walker
I hope you've been able to stay warm in this cold weather! Winter has definitely arrived! Due to the 4-day week and our school wide spelling bee on Thursday, we will not have a root word study or Mountain Language this week. We will be focusing on beginning the reading of our new novel, Holes, and answering ISTEP types of questions related to our reading. Let's have a great week! :)
Good Luck, Spellers!
This Thursday, January 21st, is our annual school-wide spelling bee! Each class has two spellers in the bee representing their homeroom. We held qualifying classroom bees prior to Thanksgiving, and the winners have been preparing for the school bee ever since! Good luck to our representatives, Trayce Raymond and Thomas Young! If either of these young men are absent or unable to participate in the bee, Chyanne Beaver is our class alternate. Good luck to you all! We are proud of you!
You have one more week to order from our latest Scholastic book order! All orders are due on Friday, January 22nd. This is a great, easy way for your child to get some new books in their hands! There are some AWESOME books in this set of pamphlets! If you would like to place an order, you can fill out the order form attached to the form and send in cash or a check made out to Scholastic Book Clubs. You can also place an order online by using our class activation code: GNCJ3
Please let me know if you have any questions!
Box Top Contest
If you've been saving Box Tops for Education, now is the time to start sending them into school! We are having a contest until Friday, January 29th to see which class can collect the most Box Tops! If our class wins, we will receive a class treat! Also, if your box tops are neatly cut out, our class will receive double points! Thanks for your help with this contest! :)
Classroom Citizen of the Week
Congratulations to Caroline Payton for being chosen as this week's outstanding Classroom Citizen! Caroline is kind and helpful to others and a respectful member of the class. Way to go, Caroline! :)
