Meet real comic book artists, buy their books, and have them signed! Visit all the artists tables and have them stamp your program map then turn it in at the official comic con table for a prize!

Location: Outdoors just outside the main entrance on the corner of Liberty and Clinton St

Drawbstacle Course

Time: 10:15-10:45 AM

Location: McChesney Room

Artists: Gregg Schigel, Shane Moore, Frank Cammuso

What can a cartoonist do with one random squiggle? Can a cartoonist base a figure drawing on five scattered dots? How will cartoonists incorporate suggestions into a drawing already in progress? Find out when audience members provide squiggles, dots and suggestions to cartoonists who’ll have to work from them in…the drawbstacle course!

Dave Roman Keynote Talk & Book Signing

Time: 11:00-12:00

Location: McChesney Room

Artist: Dave Roman

Cartoonist Dave Roman (Astronaut Academy; X-Men: Misfits; Teen Boat!) will deliver a lively, visual discussion on comics, and how they’ve served as inspiration throughout his life, fostering a love for reading and a passion to make his own books. He will also share insight into working at Nickelodeon Magazine, where he developed comics based on TV characters like SpongeBob Squarepants. His passion and humor will demystify the publishing process and inspire even self-proclaimed ‘non-artists’ to want to create their own graphic novels!

History of Comics

Learn about the fun history of how comics got started from story-telling in cave paintings, hieroglyphics, the Trajan column to the evolution of the comic strip and its eventual growth into comic books.

Greg Capullo Artists Signing

Time: 12:00-2:00 PM

Artist: Greg Capullo

Greg will be in artists alley selling copies of Batman prints and signing up to 3 items per person.

Greg Capullo is a self taught Illustrator and the current artist on the best-selling and highly acclaimed BATMAN series for DC Comics. Prior to that, he was best known for his 80 issue run on Image Comics' SPAWN, created by Todd McFarlane. Other popular comics work includes Marvel Comics X-FORCE and QUASAR (as well as a slew of one-shot titles). He is also the creator of The Creech, a Sci-Fi/Horror comic published by Image Comics.Greg has provided art for Blizzard Entertainment’s World of Warcraft, contributed lead character designs for the the award winning HBO animated SPAWN series, was the cover artist for many popular musical groups including Korn and Disturbed, and worked behind the scenes on many projects ranging from toy design to video games for TME.

Scribble Scramble

Time: 1:00-1:45 PM

Eight young artists are chosen from the crowd to pit their scribbles against one another in a series of improvisational drawing quests. Do you have the courage to doodle silly things for a crowd? Will the crowd have the imagination necessary to help you conquer the quests and ultimately win the coveted Scribble Scramble championship belt? Eight contenders enter. One leaves as champion. Your doodling destiny awaits.

Comics Quickfire

Time: 2:00-2:45 PM

Location: McChesney Room

Artists: Dave Roman, Gregg Schiegel, Jacob Chabot

A fast-paced game show where volunteers are paired off with (or against) professional cartoonists in a series of fun-filled drawing challenges! Audience members provide suggestions and add to the creation of totally improvised epic drawings!

The Costumer Cosplay Contest

Time: 3:00-4:00 PM

Location: McChesney Room

Come dressed as your favorite comic, manga, superhero or other fun character. Winners will be awarded in different age categories including children, teens/adults!
