What does bullying mean?

Bullying is repeated, aggressive, unwanted behavior involving children and teenagers, and involved a kind of power imbalance, whether it is real or perceived.

How big of a deal is bullying?

  • Over 3.2 million students are bullied every year.
  • Around 160 thousand teenagers skip school each day because of bullying.

How can I stop people from bullying

If you see someone being bullied, there are some things you can do to stop it.


  • Act immediately, and get the people involved separated.
  • Make sure everyone is okay
  • Stay calm and be respectful
  • Hear the story from everyone involved
  • Support each child and find ways to get them involved in other activities they like

How can I get help?

If you or someone you know is being bullied, there are quite a few ways to get help.


When a child is being bullied, contact:
