MATH
6th Grade: Students took a quiz on multiplying decimals last week. Please check power school for current grades. Quizzes can be retaken as long as all prior homework is finished. This week we will finish our unit on decimals and we will have a test on Friday.
7th Grade: 7th graders will be learning how to solve two step equations this week. We used algebra chips for the first time this year on Friday. Expect a quiz on two step equations on Friday.
8th Grade: Because of the snow day, 8th graders will have a test today, Monday, on functions. Next we will begin studying algebra and reviewing one and two step equations. Any quiz or test can be retaken within a week of getting the test back if all homework has been turned in.
SCIENCE
6th Grade: We are learning about the Scientific Method and will be working on how to use that information in our science fair projects. Students will be practicing how to create investigatable questions as well as learning about independent and dependent variables in experiments. On Tuesday, we will be having our 3rd session with the Tip of the Mitt Watershed program.
7th Grade: The students have been working on getting their questions approved for their science fair project. They will have until Wednesday to get their science question approved. The students will need to get their proposal forms signed by a parent. We will also be starting our new unit on cells this week.
8th Grade: Due to our snow day, we will be finishing our critique of “2012” on Monday. We will also be having our 3rd session with the Tip of the Mitt Watershed program on Tuesday. After that, we will be checking in on our science fair projects and discussing our new unit topic on oceans and their importance in our world.
