Welcome to this beautiful land!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alaska is bounded by the Beaufort Sea and the Arctic Ocean to the north; Canada's Yukon Territory and British Columbia province to the east; the Gulf of Alaska and the Pacific Ocean to the south; the Bering Strait and the Bering Sea to the west; and the Chukchi Sea to the northwest.

Alaska is dived in 16 boroughs instead of counties. Alaska doesn't have an actual government of it's own, it's administered directly by the state government. The United States Census Bureau as divided the land into census areas.

Major Issues/ problems

The most serious problem concerns drugs, alcohol, substance abuse and crime, however, statewide, only one out of four people mentioned problems in this category as the most serious overall problem in Alaska.

Besides the concerns talked about by a fairly large group of people about violence and violent crime, the only other crimes or types of crimes identified as "serious problems" were theft and burglary, and drinking and driving.

Basic Economy

Oil and gas is the largest provider to Alaska's economy. Federal subsidies are also an important part of the economy, allowing the state to keep taxes low.

Its industrial outputs are crude petroleum, natural gas, coal, gold, precious metals, zinc and other mining, seafood processing, timber and wood products.

The history of Alaska dates back to around 14,000 BC, when Siberian groups crossed the Bering land bridge into what they call Western Alaska.

In the 1890s, gold rushes in Alaska and the nearby Yukon Territory brought thousands of miners and settlers to Alaska. Alaska was granted statehood on January 3rd 1959.
