Landscape
The land here was dissected,or taken apart by glaciers that were here thousands of years ago. The Dissected Till Plains is also known as the Glaciated Plains. Some of the landscape is farms and cattle. There are a couple of very popular cities in this region also. The Dissected Till Plains has a lot of different types of land forms. What an amazing region this is.
Major Cities
Kirksville, St.Joseph, And Hannibal are the major cities in MO's northern area. St.Louis and Kansas City are on the line of The Dissected Till Plains so they are in another region also. You can visit these amazing cities with your family some time. There are many other cities in this region but these are only the major cities.
Recreational Activities
Some of the activities that the Dissected Till Plains is famous for are St.Louis zoo is in St.Louis, Mark Twain boyhood home which is in Hannibal, Chandler Hill Winery that is in Defiance, Castlewood State Park is located in Ballwin, and Grants Farm is located in St.Louis.
Transportation
This region is interdependent, which means that it relies on other regions to help it get all it's needs. Well that's when transportation comes in. Some of the transportation that helps get people, food, and supplies all around MO. Here are some examples for transportation, waterways that have boats on them, railroads with trains that mostly carries coal and some times people, roads for cars to get from one region to another, and airports to move people all over the country.
Rivers
The main rivers in MO are The Platte River, The Missouri River, and The Mighty Mississippi river. These are only the main rivers that flow around or into Missouri. The Mississippi and Missouri River flow around MO. The Platte River flows into MO.
Depending on the Enviroment
People in this region depend on all the farming and cattle. For farming, farmers grow corn, soybeans, wheat, and hay in the rich soil left behind from the glaciers.People depend on our environment for tourism to pay all the people in the region.
Adaptations & Changes
Lots of people in this region change our rivers. They fish a lot in this region. People are hurting our rivers by fishing out fish that help clean our rivers. People also change our environment by planting plants and those plants give us oxygen.
