Cal Coast Cares Foundation Scholarships
The Cal Coast Cares Foundation is providing $91,000 in scholarships to high school seniors, foster students and area colleges in 2021.
The James L. McPheters California Coast Credit Union High School Scholarship Program is providing $30,000 in scholarships. Four scholarships for $2,500 each and ten scholarships for $2,000 each will be awarded to college-bound high school seniors residing in San Diego or Riverside County.
In addition, the Cal Coast Cares Foundation is providing $36,000 in foster student scholarships to college-bound high school seniors and current college students who are in or have been in the foster care program in San Diego or Riverside County. Each scholarship is $2,000. Recipients in 2021 will also receive another $2,000 in 2022 if they apply and continue to meet the eligibility requirements.
The scholarship eligibility requirements, application deadlines for each scholarship and digital copies of the scholarship applications are posted on our website at calcoastcu.org.

Mesa College Virtual Open House - April 17, 2021 - 9:00 AM
Mesa College is thrilled to present Jumpstart Your Success 2021. This is a virtual event for prospective students, their families and friends on Saturday, April 17, 2021 from 9:00am-12:00pm. Join fellow future Olympians for an introduction to college life! Attendees will have an opportunity to learn more about Mesa College and the San Diego Promise FREE Tuition Program. There will be virtual tours and presentations to showcase the diversity and depth of programs and services that Mesa College has to offer. We will host interactive workshops, demonstrations, and so much more! In addition, students who will be attending Mesa in the Fall will have an opportunity to enter our opportunity drawing for a chance to win one of four $250 scholarships.

P-EBT Update Third Round of Benefit Distribution
The California Pandemic EBT program (P-EBT) is starting its third round of distribution of Food benefits on a Pandemic EBT card benefits for eligible families.
Please ensure your student addresses are up to date in PowerSchool in the Parent Portal, as this information is critical to the distribution of the P-EBT cards.
For students experiencing homelessness, who do not have an address (i.e., those using the school site as their address), the P-EBT cards will be distributed at your school site.
Our CYT Department will be connecting directly with your school to provide additional information and support as needed.
Know Your Rights - March 27th @ 10:00 AM - University of San Diego
Madison High school students are invited to a special Know Your Rights discussion hosted by University of San Diego School of Law and Just The Beginning on Saturday, March 27th at 10:00 AM PST. At this online event, students from across the country will learn: (1) about their civil rights protected by the U.S. Constitution and delineated by United States Supreme Court decisions; (2) how to exercise their civil rights during encounters with law enforcement; and (3) what to do when their rights are violated by law enforcement officials.
