We are PK-6th Public Elementary School in Boise, Idaho! We serve the community of NW Boise and parts of Eagle and Garden City. We have excellent community support for our outstanding teachers and staff! Thank you!

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION
If you have a child who will be attending Kindergarten at Shadow Hills next year, please register them online as soon as possible through your existing parent portal (username and password). If you are unsure of your username or have forgotten your password, please call the office for assistance (208-854-6060).

Application Deadlines
Open enrollment applications will be accepted at any time throughout the year. However, those applications submitted by the dates indicated below will receive first consideration for open enrollment in the indicated grade.
Elementary: Feb. 1st of the preceding school year.
Seventh grade: May 15th of the fifth grade year.
Eighth and Ninth grade: Feb. 1st of the preceding school year.
Tenth grade: May 15th of the eighth grade year
Eleventh and Twelfth grade: Feb. 1st of the preceding school year.
BIKE TO SCHOOL DAY!!
When: Wednesday, May 8, 2019
Where: Meet at the Optimist fields’ east parking lot for an 8:35 a.m. departure.
We will have police officers escort us down Hill Road to Shadow Hills.
Please join us even if you plan to walk.
You’re of course welcome to start from your own location.
Let your teacher know if you need a bike helmet!

Celebrating a 100 Years of School Nursing!
Boise School District's School Nursing Program turns 100 this school year! The program is one of our nation's first school nursing programs, having started in the District in 1919. Wednesday, May 8th is Nurse Appreciation Day! We SO APPRECIATE our Health Office Staff at Shadow Hills! Please join us in recognizing Jolene Maynard and Terri Lindemann (pictured below)! These wonderful women take care of all the students at Shadow Hills! We are also fortunate to have Tasha VanCuren (Health Tech) on Thursdays in the Health Office. Tasha has been a great addition to the team!

WALKING CLUB NEWS
Walking Club is finished for the year. It's been a wonderful season of healthy activity with more students participating than ever before! We had 55 students who completed 25 miles, 13 students who completed 50 miles, 4 students who completed 75 miles, and 11 students who completed 100 or more miles this year. Thanks to all the students who walked and ran at lunch recess!
A special congratulations goes to three 4th graders who each ran for 300 miles this year! Way to go, Taif A., Caleb and Jackson L.!!

Erin Hunter, author of the Warriors series and more recently the Braveland series, is coming to Boise. She will be presenting at The Egyptian in downtown Boise on May 13th. Tickets are available now! See the flyer attached below for details.
The Sixth Annual Girls STEM camp is on May 29th at Morley Nelson Elementary and May 30th at Liberty Elementary. Registration starts at 8:00 a.m. on May 7th. Last year the free camp of 200 girls filled up in 30 minutes. Please see the link below entitled HOME for the registration form that will open up at 8:00 a.m. on May 7th.
