Happy New Year
Welcome back to your students as well! I hope they were able to rest, relax and unwind during their time at home. I am looking forward to a continued great year. We will spend this week getting our feet back on the ground and gearing up for the end of the quarter. Please see all announcements below for what is going on in class.
Class Announcements
A Glance at the Week
2. Goal Setting- Monday and Tuesday, students will reflect on their time in class, work ethic, and growth in 2015. Through discussion and writing, students will then set goals for the new year. Feel free to ask them about their responses!
3. Reading Log- Students have a reading log this week for their choice book. Because we are not reading as a class, I am asking that students manage and moderate their reading for an informal "book club" discussion on Friday.
4. Non-fiction Reading- This week students have the opportunity to read an article of their choice from an approved non-fiction site for in class discussion and group participation.
5. Writing Workshop- Will continue this week. Students will revise and edit their outlines to publish their informative essays. Essays will be published by the end of the quarter.
