Here are the programs requirements:
*The state recently passed new eligibility guidelines that allows students to be determined eligible for CCP with test scores or their high school GPA. Please see the new eligibility rule here: 3333-1-65$14_PH_FF_N_RU_20220203_1631.pdf (state.oh.us)

We do offer a few College Credit Plus courses in English. Students who are interested in taking these courses next year, must apply to Kent College Credit Plus Program by June 1st. In addition, students need to select the course on their course selection sheet. Students must also submit the letter of intent by April 1st.
If you would like to know information about the College Credit Plus program, please visit https://www.kent.edu/ashtabula/ccp-info-nights. There is a video that Valerie Gonzalez, Kent Ashtabula's Admissions Counselor, recorded. Please note that this was done before the the state announced that the colleges do not have to require testing in order to participate in the program. This video has information that will apply to other schools besides Kent, but please check with each college for their CCP requirements.
How do I apply for College Credit Plus?
1) Submit the Letter of Intent - available to download directly below.
2) Submit the CCP Acknowledgement form - available to downloaded in the CCP Information Packet. This forms states that the student and the parent have been provided counseling services concerning the advantages, possible risks and consequences of participation. If you have not received this information - either from the CCP Information Night on Feb. 10th or from an one-on-one with the school counselor, please contact the student's school counselor to schedule a meeting.
3) Apply at the college you would like to participate at:
Ken State University - Ashtabula: https://www.kent.edu/ashtabula/ccp/apply-now
Lakeland Community College: https://lkn.lakelandcc.edu/public/apply/
4) Kent State University requires a CCP Permission Form - It is available to download directly below.
If you are not sure if you can use your ACT or SAT school, please contact your school counselor to discuss.
5) Contact your school counselor and request your transcript to be sent.

LAB Week serves as a tremendous college prep experience where students learn how to meet, interact and work together with complete strangers. Held on the campus of Lake Erie College, the students stay in dorms and are supervised 24-hours a day.
Students participating in LAB Week 2022 will also earn three college credits for Lake Erie College’s Fundamentals of the Enterprise course as a direct transcript.

Many scholarships are starting to be due and are too many to list. Here are websites to check out for non-local scholarships:
http://Raise.me - students can earn mircroscholarships from colleges for the work they are already doing. For example, $50 for an A in an Honors Class, $75 for taking an AP Exam, etc. Not all colleges participate, but if your college is on there, it's a great way to possible increase your scholarship money.
